You are here: Photo Albums WILLIAMS Luticia Not much is known about Luticia. She was born in Indiana in 1833 and died in Michigan in 1918. The spelling of her name is somewhat unclear. I have seen her name spelled Luticia, Leticia and Lucretia. I spell it Luticia because in a Bible I have in my posession that belonged to her husband, Jacob RICHARDS, during the Civil War, it states "Should I die on the battle field or in Hospital, for the sake of humanity, acquaint My Wife Luticia Richards residing at Bluffton, Wells County, Indiana of the fact, and where my remains may be found." According to Luticia's great-granddaughter (Merrilla LEPPERT), Luticia is of Dutch Quaker descent. She and Jacob had 9 children. Apparently the RICHARDS family lived in Kansas, Indiana, then Michigan. I have been told that the 3 eldest children stayed in Kansas when the rest of the family moved to Indiana. While in Indiana, Jacob served in the Civil War. Both Luticia and Jacob are buried in St. Louis, Michigan in Oak Grove Cemetery. Photo Gallery
