The
SONSMITH - MOLL Family In America You are here: Photo Albums MOLL / SONSMITH / SONNENSCHMIDT The SONSMITH-MOLL Family in America Forward
Forward Does anyone ever read a "forward?" In the SONSMITH - MOLL families and their descendants, I'm going to assume that they do... Anyway, be it known here that I have written this family history upon the requests at various times of Mrs. Anne SONSMITH QUIGLEY, Mrs. Meta SONSMITH ROYAL, and Mrs. Mary Catherine WILDERN SONSMITH. Family trees should bear interesting fruit in the telling. A mere list of names with birth, marriage, and death dates may be of interest legally, but otherwise comes as near to boredom as I care to get. However, some record is better, in my judgement, than no record at all. (...BUT WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE WERE THEY?) Besides relating when and where individuals were born, there should also be some interesting events in every life worthy of preservation. What are some of the interesting events in ancestors' and descendants' lives? What were their special gifts and abilities? How much education did they obtain in preparation for life? What were their occupations? What kind of citizens were they of their country, their families, their churches? In the event of death, what was the cause? Even knowledge of such an inherited disease as diabetes may prove valuable in alerting descendants to take precautions. What is the date of death and place of burial? I have tried to make a beginning of this family history. Actually what I have written and what I know may be compared to the "tip of the iceberg." Good luck and best wishes (along with a huge supply of erasers) to all who continue this family history. Sincerely,
Eleanor DEMUN HASTINGS |
