Mrs. Merrilla Margaret (Leppert) - Saginaw, Michigan
Passed away
Saturday, June 19, 1993, at the Martin Luther Saginaw Home after a
lengthy illness. Age 72 years. Merrilla Margaret Leppert was born
April 17, 1921, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Samuel
Ivan and Ethel R.
(Richards) Leppert. She married Warren
F. Kent, April 17, 1942. He survives her. A son, Wallace
Ivan Kent predeceased her May 16, 1980.
Surviving besides
her husband are one son, three daughters and their spouses, Warren
F. Jr. and Ruth Kent, Middleton, Mich.; Rilla
and Gil Allen, Duncanville, Texas; Kathleen
and Stan Dulaney, Auburn; Carol L. Kent,
Grass Lake, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; three great grandsons; many
neices and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Samuel
Ivan Leppert, Jr.
Mrs. Kent was a
member of First Congregational Church, Saginaw. She was a 50 year,
life-member of the Martha Washington Chapter, #113, O.E.S. and had
been soloist for the chapter for many years. She was also president
of the Emerson Elementary School PTA for many years and a member of
the Metropolitan Club Ladies Auxiliary. She had been employed as
church secretary at First Baptist Church of Saginaw for many years
and previously had been employed as cateress at First Congregational Church.
Funeral service
will take place 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 1993, at the W.L. Case
& Co. Funeral Chapel, 409 Adams St. Her son-in-law, Mr. Stan
Dulaney will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends
may call at the chapel, 409 Adams St. from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday
and 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday where the Martha
Washington Chapter #113, O.E.S. will conduct a memorial service at
7:30 p.m. Monday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish
to consider the First Congregational Church. |

While I was woking
on a scrapbook page for Grandma, I wrote down many of the things I
remembered about her. At first it was just going to be an outline but
then I wrote a very short story and I call it "I Remember
