So. Washington, 48601, celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary
on Saturday, April 17th at a family dinner party at Sullivan's North
on Bay Road.
The former Merrilla
Leppert and Warren F. Kent
were married in Saginaw on April 17, 1942 (Merrilla's
birthday also).
Their children
co-hosted the celebration. They are: Warren
F. Jr. and Ruth Kent, Middleton, Michigan, Kathleen
and Stanley Dulaney, Bay City, Michigan, Earl and Rilla
Kent-Hibbs, Garland, Texas, Miss
Carol L. Kent, Grass Lake, Michigan and daughter-in-law Mrs.
Reba Kent, Mansfield, Ohio. A son, Wallace I. Kent
died in May 1980.
They also have
eleven grandchildren.
Warren
retired from Saginaw Parts Plant in 1975 and Merrilla
retired in October 1981 after 10 years as a secretary of First
Baptist Church, Saginaw.
Also
celebrated at the party were the 86th birthday of Mrs.
Ethel Leppert, Mrs. Kent's
mother and the 65th birthday of her brother, Samuel
I. Leppert, retired Saginaw Police Lt. and also retired
Saginaw court officer. |

Leppert Weds Warren
Kent - Home Ceremony Solemnized Friday Evening.
The home of the
bride's parents was the scene of the wedding at 8 p.m. Friday when Miss
Merrilla Margaret Leppert, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ivan Leppert,
923 South 12th, became the bride of Warren
Franklyn Kent, son of Mrs.
Jay O. Clark, 1211 Burt. Dr. J. W. Boyer performed the
double ring ceremony in the presence of 45 guests. Palms,
gladioluses, sweet peas and roses decorated the home. Piano
selections were played by Mrs. S.
Ivan Leppert.
Miss
Leppert wore a powder blue jacket dress styled with
elbow-length sleeves and a full pleated skirt. She wore a powder blue
hat and gloves and snake=skin shoes and carried a snake-skin purse.
Her shoulder bouquet was of sweet peas and American Beauty roses.
A rose dress with
navy accessories and a sweet pea shoulder bouquet was worn by Miss
Mary L. Buchholz, maid of honor. Charlotte Roemer, flower girl and
ring bearer, wore a yellow dress. Ralph Kent
and Elmer Kern attended the bridegroom.
A wedding cake
centered the table for the reception at the Leppert
home. After a trip through northeastern Michigan, Mr.
and Mrs. Kent will
reside at 919 South 12th.
Both the bride and
bridegroom are graduates of Saginaw high school.
Among the guests
were Mr. and Mrs. Justin Kent of Essexville and Miss
Susan Beryl Kent of Flint.
Parties
complimenting the bride were given by Mrs. Norma Kent of Essexville, Mrs.
Jay Clark, Mrs. S. Ivan Leppert
and Miss Mary Buchholz. |
