Albums EASTMAN Mark Hamilton REVISED BIO COMING VERY SOON! Not much is known about Mark Hamilton EASTMAN and what is known is not good. It is well known that Mark left his family and was disliked by many people. Word of mouth has it that he was a good-looking, happy-go-lucky drinker and womanizer. Apparently he left the family after his two older sons were grown and had moved out of the house.
During his senior years, it is said that Mark made his living by collecting scrap steel and rags. His horse wore a hat and pulled a cart. He blew a horn to announce that he was in the area and then people would know that they could bring out their scrap materials. Mark probably died without many possessions as he is buried in an unmarked grave in the "Poor People's Section" of Oakwood Cemetery in Saginaw, Michigan. He passed away on July 13, 1936 at age 82. His death certificate states "excessive heat" as the cause of death.
Mark and Elizabeth had four children: John L. (born in Freeland, Michigan around 1884), Charles Amhurst (born in Kent City, Michigan in 1885), George Edward Wilburn (born in Sparta, Michigan in 1888), and Mary Emily "Maizie" (born in Freeland, Michigan in 1896). Photo Gallery
