You are here: Photo Albums BENEDETTI Anna Maria Anna was born in Italy on September 28, 1866. She grew up and lived in the mountains outside of Florence in the Village of Casore. On August 6, 1890, she married Pietro ARCANGELI. The wedding took place in her parents' home in Casore and on the same day was confirmed in a civil ceremony at City Hall in the neighboring Village of Marliand, Italy. (Note: Neither of these villages seem to exist on modern day maps.)
After the
wedding Anna lived with Peter's
parents until she left for the United States in about 1895. Anna had a very pronounced Italian accent. This language barrier was a problem for the grandchildren as they could not always understand what she was saying. The only thing that great-grandson Wayne EASTMAN remembers her saying was at the funeral of her son Fred in 1957. She said, "Now I go." Her prophecy came true; the next year she passed away on August 6, 1958 at age 91. Her headstone shows the name "Anne" as her first name.
~Written by Wayne EASTMAN based on facts outlined in a 1969 taped interview of Anna's daughter-in-law Margaret (ARCHAMBOULT) ARCHANGELI. Photo Gallery
